 Tips for Energy Efficiency

  • Programmable Thermostat  A thermostat that is programmable is ideal for people who are away from home during set periods of time. Through proper use of pre-programmed settings, a programmable thermostat can save you money every year in energy costs.
  • Thermostat Setting  Keep your thermostat set at 65 degrees for about eight hours a day, and you can save up to 10% on your monthly heating bills.
  • Excessive Dust  If your home has excessive dust, this could be caused by leaky ducts which can pull particles and air from attics, crawl spaces and basements and distribute these particles inside your home. Sealing your ducts may be a solution.
  • Change Filters  Check your filters, because a dirty filter can not only increase energy costs, but it can damage your equipment which can lead to early unit failure. Be sure to change filters in your furnace, heat pump, air conditioner, and whole house humidifier.
  • Dirt and Neglect  Dirt and neglect are major reasons for heating and cooling system inefficiency and failure. It is important to perform routine maintenance on your units to ensure efficient and optimum system operation.
  • Warranty Coverage  If you neglect to have your furnace, air conditioner, or whole house humidifier serviced by a licensed contractor, the warranty could be void if negligence or improper maintenance causes damage to the equipment. As well, damage to the equipment may cause it to run less efficiently, thereby causing it to use more energy than it should. Check your warranty coverage to make sure that you are up-to-date on proper equipment maintenance.

"We think Advanced Heating and Air Conditioning is a wonderful company.  They serviced our air conditioning system when it needed repairs, and got it up and running immediately. When our furnace stopped working, they sent out a technician right away to troubleshoot the problem.  After putting in a new thermostat, we had heat!  Most recently, we suffered extensive damage in our home due to the Waldo Canyon Fire.  Advanced Heating and Air Conditioning installed our brand new air conditioning system, and did a fantastic job."

Description Of Work:
Removal and installation of an 80 percent efficiency gas heater and the installation of a new air conditioner
Member Comments:
I contacted the company and they sent and individual out to assess the requirements to replace a defective gas heater. Rob sent the estimate via e-mail. He answered all questions, provided updated details when I requested a different unit. He also told me exactly the time he would install the unit and what he would do. He handled everything from the installation, to handling the permit, the inspection, and obtaining the electrician to put in 220 power and a fuse in the fuse box.
